On a quest for clarity, the nation's only land-based paua pearl farm continues to experiment and craft gemstones of the highest order.
The paua population along Kaikōura's coastline, decimated by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in November 2016, is slowly recovering thanks in part to the efforts of passionate paua farmers on Arapawa Island in the Marlborough Sounds.
